30-Second Trivia

In some countries, people don't stop even when the traffic light is red. Apparently, it's because stopping might attract thieves. The fact that we stop at traffic lights can be said to show how safe Japan is.

Japanese Traffic Lights

Many people probably get caught by red lights during their commute, but it's said that Japan actually has the highest density of traffic lights in the world! Apparently, Western countries have a lot of roundabouts.

About the word 'つつがなく' (Tsutsu naku)

The word 'つつがなく' (tsutsu naku), often used in business, letters, and formal settings. This 'つつが' (tsutsu ga) is written as '恙' and, according to ancient language, means illness, disaster, or worries. '恙無く' (tsutsu naku)... means to be spending time peacefully and without incident. Therefore, '恙無くお過ごしください' (tsutsu naku osugoshi kudasai) means 'Please take care of yourself and spend your time peacefully and without incident.' For '恙' (tsutsu), if you type 'つつがなく' (tsutsu naku), it will appear in predictive text, so please try it. It's a kanji that isn't commonly used... or rather, it's a kanji that's almost exclusively used in '恙無く' (tsutsu naku) nowadays. And it makes sense, as this word was used in a national letter sent to Prince Shotoku over a thousand years ago. Words from over 1000 years ago are still in use today. Amazing, isn't it?

Life hack to prevent curry from getting on the lid when packing it for lunch

"I want to pack curry for lunch, but it gets all over the lid and makes a mess." "Yeah, the curry sticks to the lid and gets dirty." "Why does it stick so much?!" (etc.) "I found a way to solve the problem of curry getting on the lid when packing it for lunch." "Here's the breakthrough method." "First, put a layer of rice at the bottom, then the curry, and finally another layer of rice on top." ↓ 1. Spread a thin, even layer of rice at the bottom. 2. Pour the curry over the rice. 3. Carefully pack another layer of rice on top, making sure not to let the curry spill over. This way, the rice absorbs the curry's moisture, preventing it from getting on the lid, and you can enjoy your meal. The cross-section looks like this (sorry for the mess). I personally call it a curry rice sandwich.

How to Deal with an Overheating Smartphone - Part 2

As promised, this is the second part. To recap from last time, a 10-yen coin is made of copper, which has excellent thermal conductivity, allowing it to absorb heat from your smartphone. This method was inspired by seeing my older brother, who works as an engineer, place several 10-yen coins on hot machinery to dissipate heat. There are a few smartphone cooling gadgets that utilize this principle. It's already a proven and effective method used commercially. If you're interested, I recommend searching for 'heatsink copper smartphone'! 【Cooling Sheets】 Applying commercially available cooling sheets to your smartphone. Pros: Instant effect, reliably cools the smartphone, readily available. Cons: Disposable, so not cost-effective in the long run. Can cause condensation on the phone. 【Handheld Cooling Fan】 Using a small, portable fan to cool your smartphone. *Peltier element fans are recommended. Pros: Surprisingly effective at cooling. Widely available in physical stores, making them easy to buy. Wide range of prices and types. Cons: Can be inconvenient to use. Small fans themselves carry a risk of ignition. By the way, a Peltier element is a semiconductor electronic component that becomes cold on one side and hot on the other when electricity is passed through it.

How to deal with a hot smartphone

Doesn't your smartphone get hot when you're gaming? Especially in the summer, smartphones get hot, and it's natural for them to exceed 40°C. This time, I want to write about how to deal with a hot smartphone, listing the pros and cons. However, please note that this is all my personal opinion and does not guarantee effectiveness. *All of the following assumes the smartphone's cover case has been removed. [Attach a 10-yen coin to the back panel] Attach it with masking tape or the like. Pros: Anyone can do it easily, personally effective quickly and reliably, no condensation on the phone. Cons: Difficult to attach, noisy, honestly a hassle to do every time. *Honestly, the most effective and best method is to turn off the power and arrange 10-yen coins on the back. [Smartphone cooling sheet] Pros: Many can be used with a smartphone case, no condensation on the phone, wide variety of types. Cons: Sometimes ineffective without using other products, a slow-acting type rather than immediate. [Smartphone cooling cooler] Pros: Can be used while gaming, wide variety of types, effectiveness varies by product but is generally decent. Cons: Expensive, the cooling cooler itself carries a risk of ignition.

A Talk About Constellations

There are currently 88 constellations officially recognized worldwide. The largest in area in the sky is 'Hydra', stretching across the spring sky, while the smallest is 'Crux', famously known as the Southern Cross. In the past, there was also a constellation of a large sailing ship called 'Argo Navis', but it was too large and difficult to manage, so it has now been divided into four: 'Carina', 'Vela', 'Puppis', and 'Pyxis'. Additionally, there are rare constellations with just a single letter in their name. Besides 'Yara' (which can be seen in Japan), there are 'Puppis' and 'Pyxis' visible in the Southern Hemisphere, making a total of three. By the way, 'Capricorn', familiar from horoscopes, isn't just a regular goat. In Greek mythology, when the gods were fleeing from a monster, they panicked and failed their transformation, resulting in the peculiar depiction of a creature with the upper body of a goat and the lower body of a fish. When you look up at the starry sky tonight, please remember these fun facts!

It attacks after charging. C. It has a high rate of fire and excellent turfing performance. D. Its attack power per shot is extremely high. The answer is... C! The Pro Modeler is a weapon characterized by its extremely high rate of fire and turfing performance. It can fire many shots quickly, allowing you to efficiently cover a wide area. It's especially great in Turf War for its role in spreading ink! On the other hand, its range and damage per shot are modest, making it less effective in direct confrontations with distant opponents. The key is to leverage its rapid fire and mobility to pressure opponents while fighting. It's a recommended weapon for anyone who just wants to ink everything!
