Kino's Journey Series

By Keiichi Shigusawa Wait, when did Volume 24 come out!? Ahem! Well, Volume 24 was released last year. Despite introducing it, I haven't read Volume 24 yet. (இдஇ; ) sob,,,,,,, It's a story about a girl named Kino and her talking motorcycle, Hermes, traveling to various countries. Under the unique rule of staying in each country for only three days, it depicts various events that occur in those nations. A peculiar journey with the stoic Kino and the slightly noisy Hermes (who talks despite being a motorcycle). Each country has its own unique culture and customs, making you think, 'Ah, so that's how it works in that situation...' Each book contains multiple short stories, so you can read through it quickly. Volume 24... (๑و•̀Δ•́)و I must get it!

『Everyone Wants Something to Cling To』

Addiction Patient × Remote Island × Locked-Room Murder Mystery Sakurako accompanies a recovery program for addiction as a cook at a villa on a remote island. Amidst people gathered with various addictions, one participant dies under suspicious circumstances on the first night. As Sakurako becomes a suspect, another incident occurs--- It's okay to cling to something, but clinging to it to the point where you lose control is addiction. A unique suspense novel that intertwines the process of addiction recovery with a locked-room murder mystery. The definition of "recovery" and how to support someone are the key points of this story. The mystery plot was well-crafted, and more importantly, I could deeply feel everyone's pain through their struggles with addiction. Everyone lives by clinging to something. It was a story that made me reflect on what I am addicted to.

The Guardian of the Spirits

This is the first story in the Guardian series by Nahoko Uehashi. It's about a woman named Balsa, a spear-wielding bodyguard and the protagonist, who escorts a young prince named Chagum. Chagum has an egg of a water spirit inside him and is being hunted by the Emperor. Balsa flees the palace with Chagum, protecting him from pursuers and otherworldly monsters on their journey. Uehashi's unique worldview is incredibly captivating and makes the story very interesting. There are many memorable scenes, including the interactions and dialogue between Balsa and various characters, making it feel like watching a movie. It has been adapted into an anime and a drama, so please check them out if you have the chance! (*´¨`*)

You might get interested in Kyoto if you read this

Aoi, the heroine, moves to Kyoto while still nursing a broken heart. While working part-time at a shop, she gets involved in various incidents for some reason with Kiyotaka, a handsome young man. Kiyotaka, nicknamed Holmes, solves the mysteries. Kiyotaka, who is the owner of the antique shop 'Kura' where Aoi works part-time, is also the grandson of a famous appraiser. He's handsome, sharp-witted, and has a great eye for antiques. Aoi, influenced by Kiyotaka, starts studying antique art appraisal. Watching Aoi grow and Kiyotaka watch over her. It's fun to see their love deepen with each volume. Also, Kyoto's history and culture are scattered throughout the work, which is great for learning about them. I enjoy learning about various things related to Kyoto's temples that I didn't know before. I enjoy it every time.

'No Longer Human' - Osamu Dazai

I reread it on a whim. It's an old book, but I think it's as easy to read as current light novels. The protagonist is born with many advantages: wealthy family, handsome, humorous, and popular with women. However, due to an innate fear of people, he cannot trust others, cannot accept happiness, and falls into a valley of misfortune. If you feel that you're out of sync with societal values or don't fit in with the majority, I highly recommend you read this book.

Exciting New Releases

Niizaka Niiko's "The Madam and I Who Love the Seasons 2" Kuranaga's "I Started Raising Dinosaurs 5" I really like works that let you enjoy a peaceful everyday life like this... Maybe it's a reaction to the Twelve Kingdoms series? 😅

Ripe Persimmon

This novel is a record of an incident caused by one woman and her subsequent life. It was a work that was so heavy, so heavy, it felt like it tore at my heart, to the point where I hesitated to put it into words. It's a story that confronts you with how many things in life, even if unintentional, cannot be excused. Reading it, I couldn't even tell if the protagonist's suffering was self-inflicted, it was that painful. I don't know the answer, but I truly hope you find happiness. I learned the beauty of the word 'ripe persimmon'. I recommend it.

Will, Revealed.

"What if a classmate's will was revealed on graduation day?" *Will, Revealed.* This is a manga I absolutely love!! It's 9 volumes, so you can get through it pretty quickly! The story begins when Tsubaki Himeyama, the popular girl in class, commits suicide, and her "will" addressed to all her classmates is revealed on graduation day. At first, it seems like just a school mystery, but triggered by the words written in the will, the secrets and true natures that each classmate had been hiding gradually come to light. The thrill of reading while suspecting, "Is this person hiding something?", makes it interesting, and every word and action of the characters becomes intriguing. Who is telling the truth, and what is the reality? As you read on, the relationships become more complex, making you want to keep reading to find out what happens next. Recommended for those who enjoy school stories mixed with mystery, or stories that depict human psychology and hidden sides. It has also been made into a movie🎥𓈒𓂃
