10/6 Tenmusu Day

This comes from a wordplay. Tenmusu is considered one of Nagoya's specialties, made with tempura shrimp as a filling for onigiri (rice balls). It was originally created in the 1950s as a staff meal at a tempura restaurant called 'Senju' in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture. It went from being a secret menu item to an official one, and in 1959, it became a specialty restaurant for tenmusu. Later, a watch shop in Nagoya acquired the franchise from 'Senju' to expand its business, and its popularity grew after being featured on TV and by Tsurube Shofukutei.

October 5th: Canada Maple Day

Canada Maple Day This day commemorates the fact that the maple leaves along the "Maple Route" from Canada's Niagara region to Quebec City turn red in early October, and that maple leaves resemble the shape of the number 5 when shown by a human hand. Maple syrup is a sweetener made by concentrating the sap of sugar maple trees, and it has lower calories than other sweeteners. Sap collected in early spring is boiled down from about 40L to 1L. The darker the color, the stronger the flavor, so it's good to choose the grade according to its use.

10/3 Anpanman Day

Anpanman Day It's the day of the first broadcast of the NTV version of the TV anime. Initially, it was planned to end after 2 cours (half a year) with a total of 24 episodes, but due to its unexpected popularity, an extension was decided, leading to its continuation to this day. In 2009, it was recognized by Guinness as the 'most characters in a single animation series in the world (1768 characters),' and the number continues to grow. Actually, Baikinman, Dokin-chan, and Shokupanman are based on characters from 'Gone with the Wind.'

10/2 Tofu Day

Tofu Day It's based on a pun. The kanji '腐' originally meant something soft and elastic, derived from its meaning of 'aging meat in a storehouse,' but in Japan, the meaning of 'to rot' is strong, leading to expressions like '豆富' (mame-tofu). (Personally, I'd also like to mention the recently established QuizKnock Day.)

10/1 Japan's Tea Day

Japan's Tea Day It originates from the story of Toyotomi Hideyoshi holding a grand tea ceremony at Kitano Matsubara within the grounds of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, on this day in 1587. This grand tea ceremony was a 'murei-ko' (no-holds-barred gathering), where many people, regardless of social status, enjoyed tea together, becoming one of the catalysts for tea's spread. Incidentally, October 1st is also the start of the year or brewing season for various things, such as Coffee Day (the start of the "coffee year" established by international agreement) and Nihonshu (Sake) Day (because the 10th sign of the Chinese zodiac, "酉" represents a sake jar, and the "brewing year" established in the early Meiji period begins on October 1st).

9/29 Maneki-neko Day

Maneki-neko Day Derived from the Japanese wordplay "Ku(9)ru(2) Fuku(9)" (meaning "come" and "luck"). Cats were historically considered good luck charms for sericulture because they eat mice that prey on silkworms and crops. However, after sericulture declined, they became symbols of business prosperity. Maneki-neko with the "right paw" raised are said to beckon money and good fortune, while those with the "left paw" raised are said to beckon customers and people.

9/27 Google Founding Anniversary

Google Founding Anniversary (Established as a private company on September 27, 1998. Every year on this day, it's customary to have a special 'doodle' at the top of the search page. The origin of the name 'Google' is said to come from a misspelling when trying to register 'googol' (10 to the power of 100).com as a search engine domain.)
