The battle feels like a survival game in disguise, but the enhancement system is quite unique. You train through a mini-game that combines Snakes and Ladders with Poker. The numbers are only 10•J•Q•K•A in 4 colors, and forming strong 'hands' leads to significant enhancements. Conversely, failing to form them means minimal improvement. Instead of stacking enhancements, once a character is enhanced, they are saved as an 'enhanced character' and cannot be further upgraded. To become stronger, you have to keep repeating the process within the Snakes and Ladders turns until you get a strong hand, which turns it into a gamble. It's innovative, but requires a lot of patience.
