The Sliding Door

When I lived alone in a rented house, there were days when the sliding doors would open by themselves at night. Not fully open, but about halfway. It didn't happen every day, though. It wasn't like anything bad happened when it opened, or there were strange noises or smells. I thought, 'It's a bit creepy, but it's not harmful, so it's fine,' and left it alone. After a while, I told a friend about it, and they found it interesting and came over to stay. This phenomenon happened about once every three days. They planned to stay for the rest of the week, brought extra clothes, and we had a really fun first day. On the second day, the sliding door opened about halfway. My friend calmly said, 'Maybe it's not a ghost, but the ground or some other cause is opening it,' and reached for the edge of the door to close it. Then, the door slammed shut forcefully. I pulled my hand back quickly, so I wasn't hurt, but I was startled because I almost got my hand caught. It had never happened before, and I got scared by the 'malice' I felt for the first time. We suddenly evacuated to my friend's house that day, and when I came back the next day, the sliding door was half-open again. I couldn't move out right away and lived there for about three more months. Fortunately, nothing else happened besides the sliding door opening.
