Air Conditioner Output and Set Temperature
You come home from being out and the room is hot! You want to cool it down quickly! Do you lower the air conditioner's set temperature when that happens? Actually, the air conditioner's output doesn't change even if you lower the set temperature. It simply uses its temperature sensor to 'keep running at the same output until the room temperature reaches the set temperature'. ãTips for Cooling a Room Quicklyã 1. Push out the hot air Depending on sun exposure, the room temperature can sometimes be higher than the outside air. In that case, first open windows or doors to ventilate. â» Especially effective when the inside of a car or similar space is extremely hot. 2. Set the air conditioner's airflow upwards Since cold air sinks, directing the airflow upwards allows you to cool the entire room efficiently. 3. Use in conjunction with a fan If you aim a fan towards an area the air conditioner's airflow doesn't reach, it creates convection and cools the entire room efficiently. â» Using a fan with the AC is also recommended for saving electricity, as it cools the room even with a higher set temperature!

If you want to cool down quickly, they say it's also effective to keep the set temperature the same and set the fan speed to maximum.
