Smartphone version's multiplayer keeps giving errors...

I'm playing Fantasy Life i for the first time on the smartphone version and it's super fun... but I can't play multiplayer at all 😭 Even if I join a room, I get kicked out after 2-3 minutes. It happens on both Wi-Fi and mobile data. I wonder if it's the time of day... I get too worried about disconnecting that it makes it even harder to play... I hope it's just because the smartphone version was released recently 😭
