My Mom's Story

My mom has a sixth sense. Or rather, she's someone who can 'see' things. Furthermore, she has precognition. Though she apparently can't control it. One day, my mom said: "My sister (my mom's younger sister) had her house broken into." "Fortunately, no one was home, so it seems only valuables were stolen." ...Mom, you're hiding something, aren't you? "You found out?" "...You knew beforehand, didn't you? That a burglar would come." Couldn't you have warned your sister so she wouldn't have been robbed? "...If I had, I might have run into the burglar that day." "In that case, my life might have been in danger…" If only a few valuables were stolen and no one got hurt, I thought that would be the better outcome. That's why I didn't say anything. She also told me to keep this a secret. Thinking back to the situation at the time, I believe my mom's decision was the best one. Perhaps she even foresaw what would happen if she had told her sister...? (Actually, I'm almost certain she did. The least damaging outcome was not warning her beforehand.) I later heard that the burglar was caught.
