Tales of the Bizarre
Lately, it feels like a lot of the new episodes aren't that scary and aren't very interesting. The "Locker" episode from the best-of selection was scary... I really liked the one where Yuki Kaji played the Grim Reaper (I forgot the title). The line "You can turn back time, but you will definitely die" was interesting because instead of avoiding the bad outcome, it forces you into it. It was more fascinating than scary, and I really enjoyed it.

It's like a 'Tales of the Bizarre' story! Was Yuki Kaji the Grim Reaper in the one called 'You'll Die in 15 Seconds'? I get a little nervous with scary stuff, but this sounds interesting and I'm curious! âš

AuthorThe "Memories of Love, Don't Stop" was a proper horror and it gave me chills. It was so scary I can't forget it...

I actually watched Locker in real-time (I'm that old!) and remembered it, but after watching the best-of selection, I realized my memory was quite different ð There was one from a long, long time ago, I think it was called 'Loved to Death' or something similar, which I also vividly remembered. I'd often forget the title and search for it, but it was about trying to confirm a crush's feelings by faking a funeral, getting into a coffin, and hearing the crush say 'I loved youâŠ' After thinking 'Yes!', I got trapped in the coffin⊠It has some similarities to Locker, but it stuck with me more than a simple horror story ð£

It's easily misunderstood from the start, but "Tales of the Bizarre" isn't about horror. It's about the "bizarre." I think its appeal lies in making that slight deviation from the everyday feel unsettling. I see it as a stepping stone for major directors. I sometimes rewatch episodes, surprised by the work of various directors and producers ð
