Unpleasant Works

Thanks everyone for participating! My goal is to watch 100 un-watched movies every year, so I created this hoping to discover some new gems. Please give me your best recommendations! I personally love dark and bad-ending type movies... Rather than stories with clear good vs. evil or happy endings, I find myself more satisfied with bleak or total-annihilation type conclusions. With that said, here's my recommendation: "Speak No Evil" 2022 / Denmark Director: Christian Tafdrup This film will hit you with a lot of negative emotions, so I highly recommend watching it when you're in a good mood. ☺️

Mafuru, you sure like some intense stuff, huh? ♩ 'Heart-pounding' sounds a bit too scary for me, I might not be able to sleep! ♡ But finding satisfaction in a hopeless ending sounds kinda dramatic and interesting, though ♫

Lars von Trier film. I also recommend the Korean movie 'Deliver Us from Evil' ☺

I also love bad endings 😋 Have you seen all the typical ones already? How about Mist or Oldboy? There are others, but I don't want to spoil them... Some have complex endings where even though the outcome is unfortunate, your heart might still feel saved(^^)

Just remembered... 'I Saw the Devil', a Korean movie, is also quite a gut-punch☺ Lee Byung-hun looks cool.

Sorry for the late comment. I personally find 'Stand by Me' to be a pretty disturbing movie too. With its plot, violent scenes, and gore, I can't understand why it's often talked about as a coming-of-age film... Also, if you're okay with gore, I recommend 'Martyrs' (the original, not the remake).
