Event Start Time

I tried to play after 8 AM but couldn't connect. I finally got in around 8:20 AM and was able to play. I think it was the same on the first day of the last event. Also, recently when I tap on dragons to collect gold, there's a musical scale in the sound, which makes it a bit more fun. Was it like this before?
