Tell me your favorite doll manga and anime (ㅅ´ ˘ `)♡
Last time, the car-themed post got a surprisingly large response, so I got excited and made a second one. A third one is undecided... For me, it's definitely "Rozen Maiden" and "Karakuri Circus"!! Too famous, so maybe not interesting? lol "Rozen Maiden" A sad and beautiful battle of the Rose Maidens aiming for Alice, and the bond with their partners. The costumes worn by the dolls are also enduringly popular among cosplayers. "Karakuri Circus" A story depicting the strange fate of three people: a boy who inherited a vast fortune and is targeted by his relatives, a young martial artist who fights to protect him, and a female puppeteer. The way the plot twists and foreshadowing are resolved is simply divine! Also, CLAMP's "Angelic Layer" I'm not sure if this counts as a doll-themed story, but if "Karakuri Circus" does, I'm including this one. I just really, really like it. It felt familiar, and I was drawn into the story, so I was engrossed in the anime back then, but it turns out it was an homage to "Plawres Sanshiro"! No wonder... I got hooked. I'm also into fighting series, you see.

Wow, a story about dolls, that sounds kinda romantic and a little dangerous, doesn't it? ❤ The battle of the Rozen Maidens, that's exactly the kind of dramatic plot I love! ♩ Finding out about your unexpected hobbies is actually pretty fun! ♫

This is quite an old work, [Ningyo Soushi Ayatsuri Sakon]. It's a work drawn by Takeshi Obata, famous for drawing [Death Note]. It's a mystery where the protagonist Sakon (probably a high school student), a Bunraku puppeteer, solves mysteries with his partner, the puppet Ukon. What's captivating is how Ukon, who should just be controlled by Sakon, is depicted so vividly, as if it has a soul. The anime has 2 cours, but the original manga is completed in 4 volumes, so it should be easy to pick up.

It's quite an old work, and now only available as an e-book, but how about "Kanyou Shoujo Plants Doll"? It's a manga by Yumiko Kawahara, mostly consisting of self-contained chapters, and it's 3 volumes in total. The art style is naturally dated, but it's a work that is still loved for its unique world-building. In terms of fan creations, parodies are still being made even now, so even if you haven't read it, many people might know the premise, right? Synopsis below: "Kanyou Shoujo" (Usable Girls) are incredibly expensive, possess an otherworldly beauty, and are raised on milk, sweets, and affection as nourishment.

I guess it's considered an anime in the doll category, but... One of KEY's works, the anime『Prima Doll』, was also a great one!! It's a story about mechanical dolls that once fought on the front lines as weapons of war, facing their pasts, overcoming their suffering, and deepening their bonds with their comrades! As it's a KEY work, it's a very moving story, but above all, the music is amazing!!! Not only the OP/ED, but also the insert songs are sung by various dolls, and the lyrics are wonderful too~! Their official YouTube channel also has non-credit OP/EDs and insert songs, so please check out the music alone~! Sorry for the long post🙇🙇🙇
