1 Litre of Tears
A drama starring Erika Sawajiri, based on a true story. The original work is a diary the protagonist girl started writing after falling ill. The young man played by Ryo Nishikido is an original character (though based on a model) created by her mother with the thought, 'I wanted my daughter to experience love too.' This work made me aware of the horrors of a disease I didn't know about before, 'Spinocerebellar Degeneration.' By the final episode, I might have cried about a liter myself...

Just seeing the title makes my heart ache. Stories based on true events make me empathize too much and my tear ducts get loose.

I cried so much watching 'A Million Stars at Noon' (ïŒïŒ)! They're doing a movie soon, right? I was a bit disappointed to hear someone else would be doing the flashback scenes, since I thought they'd use the drama's footage ðŠ

How many times did I cry watching '1 Litre of Tears'... I really thought so many times, 'Why is Aya's actual remaining words just like a normal girl's...' When I rewatched the drama version after hearing her parents' episodes, I really cried buckets again thinking, 'It's so good she could spend time with someone like Asou-kun...' ð
