A Creepy Story Rather Than Scary

I think there are children who bring bugs home in their pockets. I was one of them. I'd bring home pill bugs, of course, but also snails, grasshoppers, and beetles (excluding cockroaches) in my pockets. My mom and sister hated bugs and would get upset if I showed them, so I'd show them off to my grandma and dad, then discard them in the yard. Not release them, but discard them, meaning the bugs were already dead. I was a preschooler, so I think I was around 5 years old. Even though they disliked bugs, my mom, sister, and grandma told me it was a bit pitiful, but my dad said, "Kids are like that," so I didn't mind and kept doing the same thing. On this day too, I brought home my usual spoils from preschool, showed them to my dad, and then went to discard them in the yard. I had never paid attention to the bugs I'd discarded before, but I noticed that the discarded bugs were piled up and hardened against a wall where the wind collected. My curiosity was strangely piqued, so I sat down and looked at them, then proceeded to place more bugs there as if to add to the pile. Because I had a past record of foolishly putting them in the washing machine while still in my pocket, I was assigned the role of monitoring whether I would actually discard them. My sister, who had come along, disliked it and tried to stop me, but I wouldn't listen. To be continued in comments

My sister, having no other choice, summoned our mother. Without hiding her irritation, Mom came into the yard saying, "What is it?!" My sister silently pointed at me, and Mom peered at me with a puzzled look. "Disgusting! Stop it!" "And this (June bug) is all that's left." Seeing me flustered, my sister muttered, "It's like Sai no Kawara." "Sai no Kawara??" Unlike me, who had no idea what she meant, Mom's face turned demonic as she exclaimed, "!! They're gross enough as it is, don't say things like that!" She then kicked over the pile of bugs, and I, shocked by that, burst into tears. As an adult, I suddenly remembered this and thought, "That was totally Sai no Kawara," and I was a bit creeped out that my sister, who was only about first grade back then, associated it with "Sai no Kawara."

Did you see a picture book from hell? Big sis is smart (*^^*) Stacking stones only to have them knocked down... Can't find peace... (・ε・`) like the riverbed of souls... And with bugs... bugs are scary 💦
