Going to study abroad!!!

Unexpectedly, studying abroad? I've never been myself, but I'd be really anxious about a country different from Japan! What I recently realized is that I thought gestures would work in any country! However, there was a situation where even gestures didn't work! I tried expressing myself with my whole body like a quiz show, but it didn't get across to the other person! Did people around me notice me desperately trying to communicate, and I heard giggles? In the end, I ended up like a performer, in a fit of laughter, and I was blushing! The language barrier is best solved with a modern smartphone! I'm looking forward to all sorts of experiences abroad!
