Momotaro Book Report ②

I was cherished and raised by the grandparents who found me. This is despite the protagonist being an异-like being to humans, similar to an oni. Originally, the protagonist was something separate from humans, and in a worst-case scenario, could have ended up hostile towards them. However, the protagonist was different. They even took actions that benefited humans. What we can understand from this is, as mentioned at the beginning of the text, that even if you encounter beings difficult to understand, if you treat them friendly, it can ultimately lead to great benefits. This is truly like the saying, 'Kindness is not just for others.' While this isn't a case of it coming back to you eventually, but rather the protagonist directly repaying a kindness, it's generally in that vein. I believe the oni that appeared in this story wouldn't have been defeated if they had built a relationship with humans as friendly subjects rather than as targets for plunder.
