Favorite items added!

Favorite items were added for Karin, Eli, and Shimiko during maintenance. It makes me a little sad that I didn't notice this. Also, is it just me, or does the yellow circle on the top right of the student icons now only appear for those who can equip favorite items or unlock their mystic abilities? Was this the case before the maintenance?
