It increased with the possession count update. I think it's because low-level users often have excess gems initially, so they upgraded the possession count from level 1, which resulted in everyone's possession count increasing. At the end of the month, you tend to hit the exchange limit and gems start to overflow, so it's a welcome update, isn't it?
