Job Hunting

It's been about 3.5 years since I quit my job and started my first job hunt in August. The new place turned out to be incredibly demanding. I had to take a leave of absence due to mental health issues and then resigned. They told me they'd take that into consideration and be accommodating when I decided to join, but their work methods showed absolutely no consideration. As a result, I relapsed after just a little over a month and had to go on leave again... What happened to that promise of accommodation? So, I'm quitting again this month, and while I'm taking a break, I plan to consult with an agent again to find a new workplace... However, there are so many job sites out there, I'm not sure where to even start. Quite a few people around me are also changing jobs, but I'm still worried if things will work out, as it really depends on timing and luck...

I can only imagine how painful it must have been to have your promise broken. For now, just focus on resting your mind and body without blaming yourself. The path will surely open up if you don't rush, so let's take it slow.

From the perspective of someone needing staff, it feels like places urgently needing to fill the gap left by a veteran employee will just hire anyone quickly and pile on the work. (Speaking for my company) Naturally, when you hand over jobs that were managed by a veteran's long-accumulated know-how to someone who's just starting out, they should understand that the new person can't do everything. So, they'll delegate some of the work, but then there are clueless HR people or direct supervisors who have no idea why the newbie can't handle the majority of the big tasks that were delegated. Sometimes, the person teaching you hasn't even been in the role long themselves, having just taken over from the previous person, and can only pass on information second-hand. It might be mostly about filling a void, but if you meet the conditions, I think it's easier on your mind to join as just one of the crowd, rather than a critical replacement. Sorry for the long message 🙇
