Typhoon No. 26 Path Prediction and Impact on the Mainland
It briefly intensified to a very strong 945hPa, but has now weakened to a strong 965hPa and is moving forward. Integrating with various weather forecasts, it's certain to head directly for the waters near Hachijojima. While two days ago there was a possibility of it approaching or even making landfall on the mainland, it's safe to say that possibility has now disappeared. Typhoon No. 26 has not been classified by the Japan Meteorological Agency in terms of size; they advise against using terms like 'small typhoon' as it can lead to underestimation of its impact. However, to use the term here, it's a small but strong typhoon passing near the coast. Considering the lack of landfall possibility on the mainland, its direct impact will be limited to those engaged in maritime activities. Now for the main point: the typhoon remains strong. As mentioned earlier, its small size does not diminish the threat; the central rain clouds and winds still require attention. The troublesome aspect regarding its impact on the mainland is the autumn rain front, which is stalled over the Pacific coast of the mainland and is likely to draw in winds from the typhoon. Depending on the typhoon's position, the rain clouds over the mainland will continuously shift and expand, so please obtain the latest weather information.
