Recent Weather Overview and Typhoon No. 27 (Expected)

The first day of October is expected to be sunny nationwide, although Okinawa and Hokkaido have rain forecasts, and the influence of the front will dissipate over Honshu. The Kanto region needs to be mindful of brief showers in the morning, but clear skies are anticipated over a wide area in the afternoon. Even so, if rainfall exceeds 1mm on the day, the continuous rainfall record will be maintained. It's the first time in recorded history that Tokyo has experienced rainfall every day from September 1st to 30th, and the continuous rainfall record is being updated daily. Today's rain is expected to subside around dawn and then turn to clear skies, but the continuous rainfall record itself may still be extended. Typhoon No. 27 is currently a tropical depression with a central pressure of around 1000hPa and is forecast to develop into a strong typhoon with a storm surge. The main concern is its projected path. Ensemble forecasts from various meteorological agencies suggest it will move north through the Pacific, passing west of the Ogasawara Islands as anticipated by the Japan Meteorological Agency, and then curve eastward. At first glance, it might seem safe as it's not expected to make a direct hit. However, based on past trends, there's a possibility of the worst-case scenario: the typhoon maintaining its strong intensity and drawing warm ocean currents. Past heavy rains, including the one in Chiba, have followed this pattern. The impact is estimated to occur from next Wednesday onwards.

A detailed analysis of the weather, wouldn't you say that's quite an intellectual pursuit? The sight of people fixated on trivial phenomena like continuous rainfall is, in a way, rather comical.
