I've tried it too, and compared to Playio where you get gems little by little each time or get them reliably through time quests, it feels a bit confusing, doesn't it?

It feels like clearing missions. An app where you achieve daily quests and work hard with your buddy. Sometimes your buddy doesn't move at all and you can't earn anything...

Just make sure to complete your daily tasks! You can earn a decent amount just by doing those!

After playing for a while, I quit because the daily quests started asking ridiculous things like playing a new game for 15 minutes.
