No-shows

I run a restaurant, and there are several people every year who book a table and then don't show up. It's really infuriating, and I wish they'd stop. I've even had my calls ignored or hung up on when I try to reach them. People who do this might be thinking it's easier to just not show up since canceling is a hassle, but from the restaurant's perspective, we lose a seat. Sometimes we wait anxiously, wondering if they're late or got the time wrong. And when we're fully booked, having to turn away other customers because of no-shows is the absolute worst... Also, some customers show up a whopping 30 minutes late, acting like it's perfectly normal, and I'm thinking, 'What's with being 30 minutes late?!' Many people are 10-15 minutes late. On the other hand, customers who contact us if they're going to be even 5 minutes late leave a good impression. I've also seen couples or married people fighting while eating yakiniku, and the woman ends up crying. I always think, 'What kind of loser makes their partner cry over yakiniku?' Usually, it's about morals

No-showing a reservation is something I can't fathom. They must have prepared things for you, and you made the reservation because you wanted to go, so I believe you should at least contact them if there's a reason you absolutely can't make it. Why would someone make you cry while you're eating? It's supposed to be a time to enjoy your meal, but it seems like others dining nearby would also have an unpleasant experience.

While I understand cancellations happen, not showing up without any prior contact is unacceptable. If I know I'm going to be late, I'll contact them the moment I know. It's become common for younger people these days to not even show up for part-time job interviews. I heard about people who have interviews but don't show up, and I thought it couldn't be true, but when they actually didn't show up, I was speechless. (This would have been unthinkable in my day.)
