✨VIVIANT Filming Locations✨

They've filmed in so many places, I was wondering where on earth they were shooting?! I looked into it and I'm here to reveal the most surprising location!! A castle with blue roofs near the border of the Gorbad Republic and Azerbaijan, where white hacker Toujou and blue walker Ota were brought by agent Philza, a local special operative Tashiro, as their workplace. Naturally, I assumed it was filmed overseas, but this place is actually Lockhart Castle in Takayama Village, Gunma Prefecture!! This castle is a genuine medieval castle built in Scotland, UK. What's more, the former owner of this castle was the late actor Masahiko Tsugawa!! After being dismantled on-site, it was transported to Japan, and after many twists and turns, it was relocated and restored here in 1993 by the current owner who ran a stone industry business in Numata City, Gunma Prefecture. It's now a theme park full of exotic charm, actively used as a filming location for various movies, dramas, tokusatsu shows, and MVs, as well as for cosplay events!! Isn't it surprising that Japan has such a magnificent Western-style castle, and that Masahiko Tsugawa was its owner? 😻

A long, long time ago, I saw on TV them moving that castle. Masahiko Tsugawa was an amazing actor, but his castle relocation project led to huge deficits and he struggled. His wife, Yukiji Asaoka, was a born lady who couldn't do anything without attendants, but in her later years, due to business failures, she ran out of money and I remember her eating convenience store bento boxes 😥 Ah, so that castle belonged to Mr. Tsugawa.

It's surprising that Gunma has such a proper castle! ♡ There's always unexpected history hidden behind the scenes of dramas.
