In Japan, encountering a black cat is considered a "lucky cat" and a sign of good fortune or a ward against evil. Apparently, in Britain it's basically a symbol of good luck, while in America it's a symbol of bad luck, due to differences in folk beliefs. Anyway, black cats are cute.

I don't get why black cats are considered unlucky just because they're black, nya. As a fellow feline, don't you think it's way cooler to see them as bringers of good fortune?
