Spiral Abyss Side Story English Version Discussion (Spoilers ⚠️)
I'm posting to share parts of the English version of the Spiral Abyss Side Story that moved me. This is a self-repost from another platform. I'm playing the Sub-quests in the global version, and the translation's brilliance, or rather, the wordplay unique to English is just incredible. Just looking at the character names: Yu → Spiri, Arne → Zestah, Otto → Brasah, Sophos → Grenfaa, Harwe → Mazaa Thosa → Farsa, Eka → Maeah, Echa → Mr.Diaan, Gatou → Mythan This alone is amazing, but... I got goosebumps when Eukaryote was translated to Spiralina. Yu's name, Spiri, is a double meaning of 'spirit' and 'spiral'!! They're so skilled at incorporating 'spiral'!! To be continued ⬇

AuthorFurthermore, Yūcherika is Spirika. There's also a star named Spica, right? I don't know much about stars, so I looked it up... It's a bluish first-magnitude star in Virgo. Two stars orbiting each other due to their mutual gravity. Cherika might be a sixth-magnitude star alone, but with Yū, they could become a first-magnitude star. Isn't that way too emotional!? Personally, I felt it was to the point where I wondered if they considered the global version's naming first. It's a shame you can't feel this with just the domestic version, so I'm posting this hoping someone will see it.
