It's not different depending on the bait, but rather depends on the fish's star rating and your fishing rod's level. With a level 3 fishing rod, a 5-star fish will bite very quickly and the hit detection bar is also small. Basically, if you collect alcohol types with bait for 2-star fish and catch 50 different types of fish, you can upgrade to a level 4 fishing rod, so prioritizing that will make fishing easier. Seaweed, sausage, and fried chicken are hard to obtain, so it's recommended to save them before upgrading your fishing rod.
