Triple Typhoons Approaching
Typhoon No. 27 has intensified to a central pressure of 925hPa, with maximum instantaneous wind speeds reaching 70m/s. Although still distant from Chichijima Island, instantaneous wind speeds of 22m/s have been observed onshore, marking the closest approach to the Ogasawara Islands. The typhoon is expected to move north-northeast and away from the archipelago. However, due to strong winds, wave heights will be around 8m at the center and 4m around Honshu, so caution is advised for marine activities. Recently, a diving group near Hachijojima Island was rescued by the Coast Guard due to waves shifting their surfacing point during a typhoon approach. Do not let your guard down and avoid going near the sea until Typhoon No. 27 has passed. The hurricane that formed off the coast of Mexico has crossed the International Date Line and entered Japanese territory, where it has been reclassified as Typhoon No. 28. It is currently moving westward near the Midway Islands and is developing into a small but extremely powerful storm. As Typhoon No. 28 is moving westward, there is a high probability it will pass over the Ogasawara Islands, requiring close monitoring of its trajectory until next weekend. Meanwhile, Typhoon No. 29 has formed near the Marshall Islands. Although small and weak, currently in its early stages as a typhoon, gale-force winds are expected in the future. Typhoon No. 28 is approaching from the east of Chichijima, while Typhoon No. 29 is approaching from the south, and they are expected to make landfall almost simultaneously. Depending on the forecast track, prolonged heavy rain and wind or even a merger are possible, so extreme caution is advised.
