Chōjun! Chōjō-senpai Episode 1: "Supernatural Patrol Chief" Impressions

An anime that immediately got me hooked: "Chōjun! Chōjō-senpai". The original manga also concluded with Volume 8. So I decided to give it a try, and boy, did it crack me up (lol). Haruka Ipponbashi, the heroine and rookie policewoman, is partnered with Chōjō-senpai! And this Chōjō-senpai can use superpowers, read minds, and move objects, but he's also a bizarre senior who spews lines that seem like they'd trigger content warnings! Haruka's family runs a judo dojo, and some yakuza are destroying it, making suggestive finger gestures that also seem like they'd trigger content warnings, putting her in a pinch! Just when I thought that, here comes Hō-san, the heroine's uncle, who was struggling with his smartphone lock! Though she was in danger from the yakuza, Chōjun-senpai arrives using his psychic powers! He even does something unbelievable like performing a crane-assisted yo-yo trick, 'Cannonball Ver.', in front of the yo-yo kids, which I wasn't expecting! But in the end, Haruka's seoi-nage (shoulder throw) lands! She's not a gorilla or an oni, but Haruka totally reminded me of that Ogerpon from the Teal Mask, the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC in Scarlet & Violet! Even though she's stuck with him as a partner, I think I'm going to enjoy this every week.
