If you can watch ads, watch them! Watch as many item-giving ads as you can. Especially when the grandma pops up in the merge window, if you match the merge correctly, you'll surprisingly get a lot of gems. So, when grandma appears, do that first. It's surprisingly good for getting gems, totally sweet!
