Your total upgrades will be reset and farming efficiency will be trash, so you need to save up a decent amount of money before proceeding. Otherwise, you'll end up dying every 10 seconds and collecting pennies to upgrade.

Doesn't seem like it breaks easily either... There's a hidden quest.
