You need to survive for 100 seconds per round. I'm still low level and busy collecting abyssal fragments to gear up, but it's manageable. Abyssal fragments drop in the map hunting grounds. As far as I remember, they start dropping from level 120 maps. You can also buy them with gold from the shop once you reach the level to enter the abyss, so that's an option too. Defeating the abyssal boss gives you coins, which you can exchange for transcendent gear with the transcendent merchant located at the 5 o'clock direction in town.
