Finally broke through to level 30. This is the result of playing for a little less than 30 minutes a day. It took about 4 days. I think the ads that ate up my time played a part.

It's harder than I thought and there are so many ads. You get at least one ad per match, and if you're unlucky, you'll see even more... The ads are there right from the start. Plus, it takes quite some time to clear up to level 30. The difficulty isn't easy. Good luck!
