You get 400 gems each time. There's a time quest every 12 hours, and it seems like this reward is included each time, so check it out once in a while.

To complete the hidden quest, you must complete the chapter with the basic rules. If you just play the game, you might be playing with different rules. When you complete a chapter during the game, a notification about rule changes will appear. Don't change it and keep playing. I also changed it midway and had to go back to the basic rules.
