This happened when I was 22. During my break, I was working night security for a temp agency to save up some spending money. One day, the dispatch manager called me over quietly. It was an old hospital on the outskirts of Oneida County, New York. Since it was in a rural area, they had trouble finding applicants, so he asked me if I could watch over the building for just three days, from 10 PM to 6 AM. He said they'd pay me triple my usual daily wage. There was absolutely no reason to refuse. I figured it was a super easy gig, just killing time in a rundown hospital with nothing to guard. So, on Thursday night around 9:30 PM, I drove up to the red brick building. As I opened the lobby glass door and stepped inside, the receptionist sitting at the counter greeted me with an unusually wide smile. "You must be Jake, right?" she said. "We've been expecting you." She looked up my name on the screen, then skillfully handed me a document clipped to a clipboard and a pen. "It's just a timesheet, please sign at the bottom!" It looked like a standard form I'd seen anywhere, so without much thought, I took the pen.

It was raining that day, and I had a creepy feeling. Then, a woman suddenly appeared from the corner and blocked my path. She was wearing a huge mask, so I could only see her eyes, and then she suddenly asked, "Do I look pretty?" Wow! In that moment, I remembered that old urban legend and got goosebumps all over! I was so startled I couldn't say anything, and the woman slowly raised her hand to take off her mask. My heart was pounding... When she took off the mask, her mouth was fine. I thought, 'Thank goodness,' but then I saw the inside of the mask she was holding was completely bright red,,,,,,,,😵😵😵😱 "Do you want to try wearing it now?" That's when I realized, that woman must have been asked the same question by someone in the past and answered the same way... Now it's my turn.......

My friend's house was on the way to school, so I used to give them a ride every morning. I didn't mind doing it once or twice, but since they started riding with me every day, I started thinking about the gas and maintenance costs. So, a few days ago, I carefully said, "Hey! Since we're riding together every day, how about chipping in $30 a month? Honestly, that's way less than the round-trip bus fare, which is already over $30." But my friend got serious and said this! "Hey!! You're going that way anyway, isn't it a bit much to ask for money? Are you trying to extort money from your friend? That's really selfish." I gave them rides every morning, picking them up right at their door so they wouldn't be late, and treating them comfortably, but they made me out to be a money-crazed person just for asking for $30. I was so fed up that I shot back, "Fine, from tomorrow on, pay for your own taxi and ride comfortably." Is it the right thing to do to cut off a friend who calls me selfish for being stingy about $30 while getting free rides in my car?

I know my mother-in-law is pitiful, I get it. My own mom is also living alone. But even when my mom visits, she just eats dinner and leaves! She says it'll disturb my child's studies~ I went to my in-laws' house with side dishes I made over the weekend, but my mother-in-law wouldn't open the door. I left the food containers and sent a text, but she read it and didn't reply. I clearly told her she could stay over after the college entrance exams were done.
