Now finishing chapter 3 and moving on to chapter 4, the Battle of Guandu. Even the seemingly unbeatable final boss Lu Bu requires precise timing of tactics to defeat. If you mess up, it's an endless battle. For Xuzhou, use Deng's fire attack for 200 damage, and for Xiapi, use Guo Jia's water attack for 400 damage to eliminate enemy troops.

I just set out from Cao Cao's base, dealt with Gao Shun and Zhang Liao, and then Xiahou Dun lost an eye. Now I'm on my way to attack Lu Bu in Xuzhou. But Lu Bu, the mid-boss, is still at a high level. How much stronger will Lu Bu in Xiapi Castle be? It feels like there's no more combat power increase no matter how much I gather, and even if I get tactics books by luck or upgrade my gear to steel, it's tough. It seems like I need better generals now.

After signing up or logging in with an email-registered ID like Google, it seems like a turn-based Romance of the Three Kingdoms strategy RPG. Free-to-play players can definitely play up to '6 stars', but beyond that, you'll need to log in daily and consistently gather in-game currency and items to increase your combat power.

By chance, with only one general left and one enemy soldier fallen, I kept losing for over 5 rounds when an event popped up. Lu Bu appeared, but the next fight is against a general under Yuan Shu's envoy Han Xun. The difficulty is quite high for new players. This is also when I first met the Ancient Tome Merchant.

Chapter 4, the Battle of Guandu, takes place when Cao Cao is ruling the land with the Emperor by his side. He achieves merit by eliminating Yuan Shu and Lu Bu, while Yuan Shao on the opposing side unifies Hebei after eliminating Gongsun Zan, and then loses the Battle of Guandu against Cao Cao. In Chapter 5, Liu Bei's forces seek refuge with Liu Biao in Jing Province. In Chapter 6, after Zhuge Liang is recommended by Xu Shu, they form an alliance with the Eastern Wu forces and engage in a major battle against Cao Cao called the Battle of Red Cliffs.

I cleared Chapter 1, the Yellow Turban Rebellion, in just a day or two. For Chapter 2, the elimination of Dong Zhuo, I finally finished it after several attempts with all characters equipped with iron-grade gear and using skills like stun/seal/critical hits. Now it's Chapter 3, the clash around Xuzhou Castle with Cao Cao, Lu Bu, and Yuan Shu. Starting again now.

I have to wander around the map so much. There's no fast travel or chat window, and it takes forever to clear one chapter.

The Famicom (FC) turn-based RPGs 'Tenchi wo Kurau' (天地を喰らう): 1989 / 'Tenchi wo Kurau II: Zhuge Liang's Biography' (天地を喰らうII諸葛孔明伝): 1991 were released. Later, these games garnered user interest following Koei's PC release of 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms: Heroes of Strategy'.
