First off, if you plan on playing long-term, link your account. (Bottom right corner > More > Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account) When you first log in, you're on a guest account, so if you switch devices, you won't be able to use the guest account. Next, complete all the tutorial quests. If you don't, some content won't unlock as you play, so make sure to do them. They aren't that difficult. After that, it's a cycle of upgrading buildings, clearing chapters, defeating zombies, gathering resources, and leveling up heroes. The most important thing is to join a guild with many active and strong players. Joining such a guild allows you to get carried, participate in major events, and receive better rewards. For alliances, aim for one at level 5, check the rankings, and join a strong one. If a guild has restrictions, politely message them saying you're a diligent newbie, and they might accept you. Since this game allows player-vs-player combat, being with strong players reduces the chance of being attacked. If you know just these two things, you'll naturally learn the rest as you play the game.
