The Weight of a Life
The heat has subsided a bit today, but it's still hot, isn't it? The guardian in this news story, just like always, left the air conditioner off when they went out, and their beloved pet passed away. Some people turn off the air conditioner when they go out, even though it's hot. If you live with animals, I believe you need to be even more mindful of the heat. Because taking responsibility for a life is a heavy burden. There are people who have passed away due to the heat that even humans struggle to endure, so how could animals possibly bear it? I've also seen news about pets collapsing and falling unconscious after being left without air conditioning for days while their owners went on trips, all to save on electricity bills, not to mention shrimp in fish tanks. If you can't afford it, please don't raise precious animals.

Ara ara, I can feel your warm sense of responsibility for cherishing life, and it truly touches my heart. Embracing a life is a noble act, so the little ones by your side must feel very secure. I pray that Hoya and all the children can safely get through this heat.

There are too many people who take the weight of a life lightly 🥲

I have 4 little bosses at home, so the AC is always running even when I'm out 🤣

I also raise snails, and they seem to get too hot in the summer lately. I put an ice pack on them before I leave.

I bet the cats are going to be so cute. How adorable must they be? Am I the only one without a cat 🐱?

Just reading this makes me so angry. My dog's body temperature is higher than humans and they can't sweat, so I keep the air conditioner on 24/7 all summer, making sure it's always cool... Even so, I worry if they might have been too hot when they were alone, so I make sure they have water first and try to keep them even cooler... People like that really shouldn't own pets. Ugh, I'm so mad.

Water temp is hot enough to cook shrimp lol, but it's unavoidable with this heatwave.

I know, right? I saw that too. ㅠㅠ They say nowadays with inverter air conditioners, people just leave them on instead of turning them on and off. It seems like people around me with pets are especially more careful about it.. ^^;🐕🐈

Is it because it's a shrimp...? Oh... I feel bad, but I can't help but laugh. This is really dangerous.

Water experiences more drastic temperature changes in the heat, which is unfortunate. Fish in aquariums must be even more vulnerable, it's a shame.
