1. Gadgets acquired at Level 1. 2. Stat improvements when leveling up gadgets: (Speed Boost, Distance, Usage Count, Reduced Charge Distance, Reduced Speed Slowdown effect). - However, this does not apply to all gadgets. 3. Race distance display. The distance display has made gadget selection easier. Since it's a gadget balance adjustment, some gadgets feel upgraded while others seem nerfed. (Gadgets with infinite usage count or distance now have a set limit). My overall impression from looking through the gadgets is that their original abilities have simply been quantified. There have definitely been some balance adjustments; some were nerfed, and some overpowered gadgets became even stronger. However, specifically for the speed booster aspect, as the level increases, the stats definitely improve, and a few more gadgets now offer a 100% boost. I'm not very good at game research, so this is all I have for now... Please check it out yourself when the update goes live.
