1) Korea - 1. Kkeomeoksari

The first monumental yokai is Kkeomeoksari, a mascot character that gained immense popularity for its cute appearance in the Netflix drama 'Donggong'. The legend of Kkeomeoksari was reported not too long ago in 2008, with a woman surnamed Shin reportedly witnessing it in the 1960s. Past midnight, as Ms. Shin was passing by a winding bend in the mountain path after shredding barley at the mill to return home, a pitch-black, human-shaped figure the size of a puppy suddenly emerged from the bushes and ran around frantically, repeatedly saying, "I am Kkeomeoksari, Kkeomeoksari, Kkeomeoksari, Kkeomeoksari." Ms. Shin, who had always had strong spiritual senses and had seen goblins multiple times before, was not frightened or intimidated. She threatened to kick it if it kept blocking her path, so it moved aside slightly. However, it continued to follow her home, repeating the phrase, "I am Kkeomeoksari, Kkeomeoksari, Kkeomeoksari, Kkeomeoksari." Shortly after, Ms. Shin crossed a stream and shouted, "If you have the guts to follow me this far, then come on!" but it did not follow any further.
