The original song is super famous, sung by Gilbert O'Sullivan. This is a remake by Vonda Shepard from the TV show 'Ally McBeal'. She actually sings it in a bar scene in the drama. The mood is quite different from the original. The original has a fast rhythm, but this version really expresses the sadness in the lyrics. The lyrics are long and tell a depressing, sad story. Vonda Shepard released several OSTs for this show, including a Christmas version. Her songs are amazing. Ally McBeal ran for 5 seasons and tells the story of a law firm in a romantic comedy style. Yeah... the one Dakota Fanning played as a kid lol. The main character is 'Love is for Nerds, Only Daydreams'. That was the motto ~~ I used to watch that show while flipping through channels... Haven't heard about it in ages.

Ally McBeal... I remember seeing it on the Superaction channel back in the day. I remember her because the main character was cute, and I think the lead actor appeared from the middle of Season 2, but I'm not sure.^-^ The singer's voice really hits hard, like gunshots. She has a style of singing with a smile.^^ I enjoyed listening. Thanks for the recommendation.
