It wasn't Sporting Lisbon

I was searching the Portuguese league because of Song Min-kyu's transfer, and while looking, I found out that the commonly known Sporting Lisbon is actually correctly called Sporting CP. They say Sporting Lisbon is the wrong way to say it, but why did I know it as Sporting Lisbon? 🫠🫠 For reference, the club Song Min-kyu transferred to is CD Nacional (Madeira).
