I think grinding is essential even with a guide. This is my 4th time getting the final reward from the portal event. Before, I didn't even dare to try, so I'd just get the eggs at best. I basically overwork my phone lol I focus on purifying the land until 2 dragons + 2 source items for point collection appear. I tried with just one dragon, but it took longer to get the final reward. After that, I don't purify the land further and even intentionally delete flowers. This is to prevent the dragons from getting distracted. I have no regrets about the mission in the 'twin flowers' where you collect 200 items for the star reward. I keep my phone on and do other things while the dragons collect point items. Occasionally, I check the screen and when I feel like the item slots are somewhat full, I repeat the process of merging them. I even leave my phone on all day at work.
