Let's Learn About Pokémon Party Types (Focusing on Setup Teams)

A "face-to-face" party, or setup team, consists of a supporter and an ace. Simply put, it's a party where the lead supporter creates various conditions and then switches out, allowing the ace to come in and take down the entire opponent's team. It's easy to think of it this way. There are several types: Setting up screens This method involves using screens like Reflect, Light Screen, or Aurora Veil to allow the ace to safely build up stat boosts. Weather/Field Setup This method involves setting up weather or a terrain to activate the ace's ability and boost the power of its moves. Baton Pass This involves the supporter building up stat boosts and then passing them to the ace via Baton Pass. The biggest advantage is its low difficulty. Usually, the lead Pokémon is fixed, and the setup process is the same every match, making it recommended for beginners. However, because of this, it's easy for the opponent to read your strategy, and teams that don't prepare for this are rare, so it can be easily countered at higher ranks. Therefore, I recommend it for beginners who are wondering what kind of party to build.

Eek! You taught me about status effects last time, and now it's a face-to-face party? You're like a real genius! >_< I want to try having the supporter set up the stage and the ace zoom through and win it all, just like Riple! :D Thanks so much for the sparkling gem-like tips! Uwhehe :D:D

But isn't this a setup comp rather than a face-to-face comp?

It's similar to the weather party, so it should be easy to adapt.
