Japan Tourism Agency Offers Up to 50% Discount on Accommodation in Kyushu
The program covers all 7 prefectures in Kyushu, including Fukuoka ๐ฏ๐ต The Japan Tourism Agency announced the 'Kyushu Revival Support Discount' on August 28. The eligible areas include Fukuoka, a major tourist destination, as well as Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima prefectures. Starting with stays on October 1, 50% of travel costs will be supported, with discounts up to 60% for Kumamoto and Kagoshima, which were heavily affected by the earthquake. The maximum support is 20,000 yen per person for a 1-night package including accommodation or transportation. For packages of 2 nights or more, it's 30,000 yen, and for trips covering two or more prefectures, the support can be up to 35,000 yen. According to Japanese media, this policy also includes foreign tourists visiting Japan, including Koreans. โ๏ธ This discount was introduced to help recover tourism demand after cancellations extended to the Kyushu region, which was not severely impacted by the Kumamoto earthquake in July.
