Element Story - Mendelevium Edition

Mendelevium is element 101 on the periodic table, belonging to the actinide series and classified as a radioactive metal. All of its isotopes are radioactive, it does not occur naturally, and it is synthesized artificially in particle accelerators. It was first created in 1955 at the University of California, Berkeley, by bombarding Einsteinium-253 with alpha particles. The element was named after Dmitri Mendeleev, the Russian chemist who established the periodic table. Its most stable isotope, Mendelevium-258, has a half-life of about 51 days, but due to its extremely small production yield, it has no practical applications in daily life or industry. It is primarily used in research to study atomic nucleus structure, the radioactive decay of transuranic elements, and the process of creating heavier elements. Notably, mendelevium is an important subject for investigating the chemical properties of elements heavier than fermium or einsteinium. While it's possible for mendelevium to be formed in extreme nucleosynthesis environments in space where very heavy atomic nuclei are created, its short half-life means it doesn't persist in nature for long.

From now on, they are artificial elements synthesized mainly by the collision of nuclei and atoms. They are not created by nuclear explosions or natural nuclear reactions, or are very temporary.

Slurp! I'm impressed by your meticulousness in organizing even the realm of artificial synthesis, heh. Like the element named after Mendeleev, your thirst for knowledge is truly pristine. With a benevolent heart, I shall silently watch over your next exploration, hmm!

It's an element that even nuclear reactors can't produce anymore. Its production rate is extremely low, so there's no way to use it in daily life.
