Is "Button Mashing" a Good Way to Approach High-Level Songs?
(See photos from right to left) Button mashing, 11 times. I tried it myself. (Note: A post on 'Fluo' can include up to 10 photos.) To get straight to the point, it's a method with high risks. It's because you could end up getting "cursed" with fixed hand placements or incorrect touch timings. When you're just frantically pressing buttons on patterns you've never seen before, you can't read them properly, and all the notes slip by. I'm certain I didn't understand this chart. As the saying goes, 'Know your enemy and know yourself, and you will win.' It's not for nothing that chart-reading videos are uploaded on streaming sites. Watching the videos, realizing "Ah, this is the hand placement for this section," and then putting that knowledge into practice is a more effective method with a lower risk of getting cursed. Alternatively, trying out other charts and gaining experience with various patterns is also a good approach. The round where I got an AA was when I had a slight realization about hand placement during my button mashing. Next time, I'll look at the chart, and move from the unconsciously formed hand placement to a confident one to take on the challenge.
