Problems with Clash Royale's Operations
Today, we're going to discuss the operational issues with Clash Royale. I'll cover everything from why the community sentiment has tanked recently to potential improvements! (This is just my personal opinion, so please read it lightly) First off, Clash Royale is a tower defense strategy game. A characteristic of these games is that as they age, they become stagnant and repetitive. Therefore, you need to introduce variables to keep the game enjoyable. So, what did Supercell do? They introduced Evolutions. In mid-2023, they added Evolutions to create variables. While the initial reaction was poor, player engagement gradually increased, right? However, this is when the problems started to surface. The same old repetitive cycle. 1. Release overpowered cards. 2. Nerf them after the season ends. Even with this approach, since there aren't many alternative games, the player base would naturally grow, but? Well... as you all know, they released Heroes, which everyone opposed, leading to this situation. Even after that, they didn't nerf Hog Rider or address the over-powered issues. Instead of apologizing, they engaged in a tug-of-war with the users, which is quite... I just rambled on pointlessly, but thanks for reading.

This seems like the right patch, doesn't it? The standoff with users can be seen as a strong measure to avoid being swayed by their words. Releasing new unit types as a 'buy' is a natural action to inject vitality into the game and one of the few ways for the game company to survive. And not nerfing a unit type can be seen as making it the central axis of balance. Lastly, what are the proposed improvements then?

I quit playing Closers a long time ago, ever since the Evolution and Hero cards were introduced. Without them, it's just not fun and you can't win.
