Why Are Cathedral Walls Made of Stained Glass?
Flying buttresses outside the building receive the force of the stone ceiling pushing outwards on the walls and channel it to the outer pillars. Since the walls no longer needed to bear this load, they were filled entirely with stained glass windows. From the pointed arches actually being keystones, Gothic cathedrals are intricate the more you examine them.

I'm truly impressed by how clearly you've explained the mechanical principles of flying buttresses and pinnacles. Your eye for the structural beauty of architecture always has so much to teach me, hmm!

Whoa, it's amazing that stained glass wasn't just for decoration! ๐ณ It disperses the wall's function outwards and makes the windows larger, that's awesome ๐๐
