I try not to think 'the old days were better, old songs were better,' but I feel like there really aren't many heart-wrenching ballads coming out these days. Male ballads seem to come out occasionally (perhaps because there's no backlash against 'a man loving you forever' or 'I'll give you my all') But female ballads really don't seem to be released (if a woman says the same thing, people might say 'What era is this?' or 'That's sexism'). So, sometimes you need to consume a heart-wrenching ballad for your mental health. Ah, for old songs, unless they were huge hits, I don't have good links. Today's isn't great either, but it's the best I could find. Oh Hyun-ran carved out her own niche with her unique voice, but she disappeared at some point. Did she get sick of the music industry? I found that she did release an album and was active in 2023. What's a bit disappointing when listening to songs like these is that the album has two versions of this song. I wish they would include one version as a 100% live performance to showcase her vocal talent, but it feels like they don't know what the public wants.
